Description
Elective course
The course offers an introduction to the development of Russian music and cinema and shows how historical events, affected the content and form of songs and movies. It also explains how art was a way of self-expression, the mouthpiece of propaganda, and at the same time the way to oppose the government. Students will be offered to listen and watch various types of audio and video materials, see how topics and approaches changed through the years and what is the role of music and cinema in Russian culture. The teaching material and resources used for this course will be in Russian, and the main medium of instruction will be Russian.
