Profile
Takuro Hashimoto is Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the Japanese Language Programme. He previously taught Japanese as a foreign language at Harvard University, the University of Papua New Guinea, as well as other institutes in Japan.
Takuro’s research focuses on the use of Politeness Theory in the language class to help learners build better relationships across various social situations. His teaching encourages learners to think critically and apply their communication skills even when speaking other languages. He is also interested in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for language education and is currently working on Flipped Learning course design.
